Trump’s Approval Ratings Hit A Historic Low

With the one-year anniversary of his election victory a few days away, it seems that the majority of Americans believe that their Commander-in-Chief is more of a bad hombre than the man to make them “great again”. Indeed, as The Washington Post-ABC News poll revealed, his 37% approval rating is the worst of any president at this point of their tenure in the modern polling era.

However, while Trump’s polls have been at a historic low since the start of his term — hovering at just over 44% according to the combined results of a dozen national polls — the fact that they even remain so high after such a turbulent twelve-months in office, is the real takeaway of these results, as they expose the intense polarization of Americans and their politics. To that end, the poll revealed that, unsurprisingly, only 25% of urbanites approved of their president, compared to 52% of rural voters, in addition to the fact that Trump enjoys a much higher approval rating amongst his white voters, at 46%, compared to minority voters at a lowly 20%.
