Georgia & Slovenia Discuss Transportation and Infrastructural Projects
Bilateral relations in various areas and the prospects of implementing joint transportation and infrastructural projects were the key issues discussed by Georgian Prime Minister, Giorgi Kvirikashvili, and the Vice Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Slovenia, Karl Eryavets.
The Prime Minister noted that the Government welcomes the official visit of the Vice Prime Minister of Slovenia and his participation in the Tbilisi Silk Road Forum, held on November 28-29, along with other members of the business delegation.
The conversation also touched upon the progress achieved by Georgia on its path to European integration. The Vice Prime Minister of Slovenia expressed readiness to provide consultation, as well as practical support, to Georgia within the scope of implementing the necessary reforms.
Kvirikashvili thanked Slovenia for its on-going support of Georgia’s European and Euro-Atlantic integration, as well as its territorial integrity and sovereignty.
Before meeting Kvirikashvili, Karl Eryavets also met his Georgian counterpart, Mikheil Janelidze. According to the Georgian Minister, throughout the 25 years of diplomatic relations between Georgia and Slovenia, the two countries have enjoyed excellent political relations and successful co-operation in the areas of economy, defense, education and culture.
Janelidze said that Slovenia expressed its readiness to render expert and practical support to Georgia in terms of conducting reforms and ensuring integration with the EU.
“We welcome political, practical and expert support from the EU and its member states, including Slovenia. This will help us achieve a greater level of legal, institutional and sectoral compatibility with the EU,” the Georgian Minister stated at the joint press-conference.
