Saakashvili’s Wife: Real Struggle in Georgia and Ukraine Starts Now
Former Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili’s wife, Sandra Roelofs, has commented on her husband’s detention by the Ukrainian law enforcement agencies, saying real struggle in Ukraine and Georgia has started.
“Poroshenko attacked my spouse in his apartment in the center of Kyiv. It seems that this is the end of the political persecution that had been underway for months, but in fact, the real struggle will start in Ukraine and in Georgia now,” the post of Roelofs reads.
According to the Ukrainian Security Service, Mikheil Saakashvili has been detained with regard to a case being investigated under Article 256 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU) stated that search of Saakashvili's apartment was conducted this morning along with investigators from the Prosecutor-General's Office.
Before being detained on Tuesday, Saakashvili threatened to jump off the roof of his flat. Later the He was later taken from the roof by SBU officers and taken to a car outside his apartment building.
