Georgia’s Parliament Approves Reshuffled Cabinet
The parliament of Georgia approved the changed composition of the government, initiated by the Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili in early November.
The new cabinet was supported by 103 MPs of the ruling Georgian Dream party, while only 17 opposition parliamentarians were against, during the December 21 session.
The reshuffled cabinet consists of 14 ministers and a Prime Minister. They are:
Prime Minister– Giorgi Kvirikashvili
Mikheil Chkhenkeli– Minister of Education and Science
Minister of Education Protection and Agriculture– Levan Davitashvili
Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development– Dimitri Kumsishili
Defense Minister– Levan Izoria
Minister of Justice –Tea Tsulukiani
Minister of Culture and Sports– Mikheil Giorgadze
Minister of Refugees and Accommodation-Sozar Subari;
Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure –Zurab Alavidze
Foreign Minister – Mikheil Janelidze
Minister of Corrections and Probation–Kakha Kakhishvili
Minister of Finance– Mamuka Bakhtadze
Interior Minister– Giorgi Gakharia
Minister of Labor, Health and Social Protection– Davit Sergeenko
State Minister for Reconciliation and Civil Equality-Ketevan Tsikhelashvili.
The opposition parties did not support the new composition of the cabinet, saying changes will not bring any positive results.
