Construction of New Football Stadium Commences in Batumi
The construction of a new football stadium was launched in Batumi this Sunday, with the stadium said to be built in accordance to the UEFA’s 4th category standards, with a capacity of 20,000. Construction is expected to be finalized by September 2020, creating 500 new jobs in the process, according to the news announced by the Ministry of Finance and Economy of Adjara.
The official ceremony marking the construction launch was attended by Zurab Patardze, Head of the Government of Adjara, Zurab Alavidze, Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia, Ramaz Bolkvadze, Minister of Finance and Economy of Adjara and President of the Georgian Football Federation Levan Kobiashvili.
The new football stadium, the construction cost of which amounts to 994,484,085 GEL will have a façade reassembling the concept of the Georgian national dance “Khorumi”, as the information from Ministry of Finance and Economy of Adjara says. The stadium is to have several entrances for buses, sportsmen, media representatives and VIP’s, and car park with a capacity of 1200.
Anagi Construction Company is said to be in charge of the construction works for the upcoming football stadium in Batumi.
