Georgian Foreign Ministry Issues Protest Note to Russia

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia claims to have submitted a note of protest to the Russian Federation through the Embassy of the Swiss Confederation on 10 August 2015.

“The Swiss side was handed a note of protest for submitting it to the Russian Federation in connection with the illegal re-installation by the Russian occupation forces of the banner marking the so-called “state border” on the territory adjacent to the village of Tsitelubani of Gori municipality on 6 August,” stated the Ministry.

According to the Ministry, the Swiss Embassy was also handed a set of protest notes in July about various violations carried out in Georgia’s occupied territories.
