NATO Secretary General to Visit Georgia by the end of August

The Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili said today that the NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg will visit Georgia by end of this month. According to the press office of the government, the visit will be dedicated to opening the announced Training Center of NATO in Georgia.

“As you know, in a week, the NATO Secretary General will visit Georgia. We are opening the Training Center. There were many speculations around the topic, as if it were a training base. In fact the opposite is true, this is the training center for our soldiers to train them and increase their level of readiness to the level of NATO” – emphasized Garibashvili.

According to Garibashvili, all kinds of speculations are overestimated. “We welcome the Secretary General to Georgia, as it is an honor for us. We are following the plan we received at the Wales Summit and we are completing it successfully. As for this center, we have a similar one on the Sachkhere base” – he concluded.
