Breaking: Russia, Israel Add to Syria Tensions

The heightened situation in Syria between Russia-US and Israel-Iran entered a new stage as Putin called Netanyahu today to warn about impending action in Syria. The Kremlin stated that a call with the Israeli government took place in which they urged to stay out of the Syrian conflict to ensure stability. At the same time, Israel responded by emphasizing its determination to hinder the Iranian military presence in Syria.

At a holocaust memorial, Netanyahu sent a message to Iran to not “test Israel’s resolve”. The Israeli army is on high alert as potential attacks by Iran-supported militias at its borders are possible.

The threat from President Trump Wednesday to send missiles into Syria alerted the different forces present in the conflict to expect an imminent American attack. The Russian government responded by issuing a statement seeking serious solutions while refusing to engage in “Twitter-Diplomacy".
