Vladimir Putin to Attend 70th General Assembly of UN?

Russian president Vladimir Putin is planning to attend the 70th General Assembly annual session, according to Russian media reports. According to the Russian Foreign Ministry, Putin will attend the anniversary of the forum [UN] which was created in the aftermath of World War II.

Putin, who since 2007 has not paid an official visit to the U.S., is expected to meet the US President Barack Obama, a claim the White House denies. It can be assumed that the General Assembly of the coming September will bring together a number of state leaders. Moreover, international experts expect the forum to be utilized to discuss Europe’s security and Russia’s role in the region. ZVIAD
