Tree Transfer Results in Clashes between Party Representatives

The photos of rare trees slowly shipped across the black sea have drawn the attention of many media outlets. Journalists and bloggers wrote articles wondering about the reason to arrange a sea journey for a single tree. Bidzina Ivanishvili’s park project was the answer, as his team ventured out to find rare species of trees to relocate them to his personal recreational area. The execution of his childhood dream left coastal towns with a moon-like surface marked by craters and deep holes.

Now, a new controversy emerged in Adjara as party representatives of the "National Movement" and the "Georgian Dream" clashed during the tree relocation process.

Reports confirm that activists of the “Georgian Dream” party beat members of the “National Movement” as they were protesting the tree transfer. Among the affected individuals is Bondo Tedoradze and Nodar Dumbadze.

Allegedly, the police observed the situation refraining from intervening to resolve the situation. After the beating, none of the violators were detained, highlighting a potential misconduct by law enforcement agents.

A medical team rapidly arrived at the scene carrying out first aid.

This incident comes as many other reports of illegal tree transfers emerge from the dark.

A highway section, essential to the local traffic, was blocked to accommodate the logistical needs for the tree transfer.
