Anti-Drug Policy Rally to Be Held at 3PM Today
People and NGOs protesting the current drug policy in Georgia, are going to hold a rally at 15:00 at the old building of Parliament on Rustaveli Avenue today.
The protesters held another rally late on Friday night which finished at 7 AM this morning. The demonstrators gathered to express solidarity to the people detained during the Friday midnight police raids in club Bassiani and Café Gallery.
The youth claim the current drug policy is “harsh” and is based on punishment rather than care of drug-addicts.
The protesters demand the immediate release of the detained people.
During this morning rally, the protesters performed a dance in front of the hundreds of law enforcers mobilized at the old building of parliament.
After the rally was finished this morning, the propesters cleaned the area.
