Pre-trial Detention for the 8 Detained at Tbilisi Clubs

Detention was demanded by the Prosecutor’s Office for the eight who were arrested for drug trading last Friday night. Lawyers are fighting for the release-on-bail of the defendants, who are aged between 20 and 24.

Pre-trial detention was the decided course of action.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs carried out a special operation on May 12 and arrested eight persons. The Ministry claims it was forced to take these steps due to the hospitalization of multiple persons due to drug use the past few weeks, and 20 reported cases of drug trade in the clubs alone.
