Chinese Ambassador Visits Palitra Media Holding
Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Georgia, Ji Yanchi, paid a visit to the Palitra Media Holding company yesterday. Mr. Ji toured the companies of the holding and learned about the work of various media platforms.
Mr. Ji met with Palitra’s management team and discussed issues of translation and publication between Georgian and Chinese literature. He also wished the company success.
The Ambassador said "Today we visited the media holding Palitra. The holding deeply impressed me. I think Palitra is the biggest and most influential media in Georgia and it works very hard. The main purpose of today's visit was to get acquainted with the management of the media holding and to see how the company works. We discussed the issue of possible cooperation between Palitra and a Chinese company at the meeting with Director General Irakli Tevdorashvili. I want to wish success to Palitra and friendly working atmosphere to its journalists.”
Mr. Ji Yanchi has been China’s Ambassador to Georgia since 2015. He has an illustrious diplomatic career in the Soviet Union and the post-Soviet states. Before taking up his post in Tbilisi, he served as Consul General in St. Petersburg, Russia, and Ambassador to Latvia. He is married with one daughter.
Palitra began in 1995 and now encompasses dozens of different brands, mostly Georgian language, including Kviris Palitra, Interpress, and Radio Palitra.
The company’s mission is to “create various opportunities for the representatives of all strata and social groups of society to gain significant and essential - political, economic, educational, cultural, sport and entertainment information.”
