Night Serenades Charity Festival in Georgia
On August 25 at 21:00 at the Z.Paliashvili music school in Batumi an event called “Night serenades” will open.
At the first concert an international orchestra of World Chamber virtuosos will perform, led by Georgia’s renowned violinist Liana Isakadze, conductor Cezar Alvarez and other world famous musicians. Supported by the Ministry of Culture of Georgia, the “Night Serenades” will be held from 25 August to 4 September.
On 25, 26, 28 and 30 August concerts will be held in Batumi before the event moves to the Tbilisi State Conservatoire Grand Hall on 2 and 3 September. The final charity evening concert will take place on 4 September at “Radisson Blu Iveria Hotel” in Tbilisi. All funds from the concerts will go to the Georgian Solidarity Fund to fund vital medical treatment for children with cancer.
The main partners are the Ministry of Culture and Monument Protection of Georgia, Tbilisi City Assembly, Tbilisi City Hall, Batumi City Hall and the Tbilisi Center of Cultural Events. The “Night Serenades” festival was founded in the 1980s. In 1991 the festival was stopped but after 18 years in exile, in 2009 the annual event was held again in Batumi, supported by Georgian soloist Liana Isakadze and Batumi City Hall.
