Only 5.5% of Cars Insured in Georgia

The Insurance Supervision Service quarterly report reads that only 5.5% of vehicles registered in Georgia are insured.

The document notes that according to the data of the 1st quarter of 2018, private insurance services are used by just 14.9% of the population.

The Insurance Supervision Service reports that in the first three months of the current year, the number of active policies in both medical and land transportation insurance increased.

Specifically, 554,070 policies were issued in the field of medical insurance, which exceeds the data of the same period of the previous year by 14,885 policies, while the data for QI 2012 was 31,747.

According to the data of QI 2018, insurance companies issued 71,002 vehicle insurance policies, which is 14,890 policies more than the statistics of same period of 2017 and 18,375 policies more than the data of QI 2016.
