MIA Arrests 132 Wanted in 6 Months
Georgia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) has arrested 132 people during the last 6 months. 41 out of those 132 people were wanted for theft.
Two were arrested for heavy damage to health, 15 for fraud, three for murder, eight for illegal deprivation of liberty, eight for misappropriation of others' property and one for robbery.
Also, the police arrested a person wanted for a murder committed in 2015. The offender killed one person with a firearm and wounded another on November 20, 2015 in the village of Lambalo in Sagarejo municipality, Kakheti, investigators say.
From January-June 2018, “Law enforcers have seized 202 illegal firearms and 1877 firearms and different systems and models in Tbilisi, Samegrelo, Adjara, Imereti, Shida Kartli, Samtskhe-Javakheti and Kakheti,” the statement reads, adding the Ministry of Internal Affairs continues working to seize illegal weapons and ammunition.
