Wizz Air Launches Georgia-Romania Direct Flights
Wizz Air, one of the fastest growing and largest low-cost airlines in central and Eastern Europe, has opened the much-awaited new route to from Bucharest to Kutaisi.
The first direct plane from Bucharest International Airport will land in to Kutaisi at 16:30 today. Bucharest-Kutaisi flights will be carried out three times a week - on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
Ketevan Aleksidze, the director of the Georgian Airports Association under the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development, says that Romania is the 14th country and 20th direction of Wizz Air from Kutaisi International Airport.
"Starting from today, the flights between Georgia and Romania have been launched. This is the only direct flight between the two countries so far. However, I would like to note that from August 1, State Airline of Romania TAROM will run regular flights to Tbilisi-Bucharest-Tbilisi," said Ketevan Aleksidze.
Furthermore, direct flights to Vienna will kick off from Kutaisi International Airport from November 15.
