No Emiratis Denied Entrance in Georgia
Due to recent allegations, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MoFAIC) has been investigating reported cases of the mistreatment of UAE citizens and residents at the Georgian border.
Emiratis and UAE residents (holding a legal UAE resident permit) are able to receive a visa upon arrival in Georgia. However, the reality of the situation turned out different this season as some travelers claimed to have been refused entry to the popular holiday destination.
After the ministry’s investigation, it noted that the cases in which foreigners were denied entry to Georgie were for foreign nationalities residing in the country and accompanying UAE citizens. Moreover, the ministry confirms it has not received official registered cases of UAE citizens being forced back to their countries from Georgian airports.
The ministry highlights that it is crucial for Emiratis to read the guidelines and updates issued by the ministry before travelling.
