Additional Equipment Sent to Disaster Affected Village of Chuberi

Nenskra Hydro Power Project implementing company JSC “Nenskra Hydro” sent eight units of heavy equipment to the disaster-affected village of Chuberi, Mestia Municipality, on July 6.

Georgian Construction Consortium, the subcontractor company of the project, is carrying out provision of said equipment.

On July 5, due to the natural disaster that developed on the Nenskra River where the Nenskra HPP project is being implemented, the central part of the village was flooded, and roads and bridges were damaged.

At the beginning of 2018, Nenskra HPP preparatory works- the rehabilitation of existing roads and bridges -were temporarily suspended, but there is active work underway on them now and also on social projects.

“The existence of a dam in the valley will enable us to maintain water flow in the river in case of natural disasters, which will reduce the risk of damage to the population and infrastructure,” said Teimuraz Kopadze, Operations Director of JSC Nenskra Hydro.
