Body of Murdered Child Still Not Released for Burial
A four-year-old child was kidnapped by her mother’s friend in the village of Gonio, Batumi, last month and was then killed. The body of 4-year-old Diana is still with the Batumi Prosectutor's Office 23 days later and has yet to be buried. The mother is not in Georgia and the biological father, who is a citizen of Georgia and lives in Batumi, has expressed no interest in a murder case nor in the burial of the child.
Diana was left by her mother in Gonio with the babysitter two months ago. The Kazakh citizen told the babysitter that she was going to Turkey to work.
From time to time, the mother’s friends took the child for a walk. After another typical walk, Shahlohan Jaboborova, citizen of Uzbekistan and a resident of Batumi, failed to return Diana to the babysitter. Despite many attempts, the babysitter could not get in touch with Jaboborova.
As the official testimony states, the citizen of Uzbekistan worked at a night club. During the working hours, the child was left with the different people.
4-year-old Diana was left with Sarah Mirboboyeva on July 13, who subsequently beat her to death. Jaboborova refuses to comment.
The mother of the dead child is currently in Uzbekistan. The reason why she is unable to come to Georgia to bury her child is because while working in Turkey, her passport was seized from her and she was forced to leave the country.
