Georgia External Trade 2017: Beer
According to a report published by National Statistics Office of Georgia on ‘External Trade of Georgia 2017’, the amount of beer exported from Georgia amounted to 4,636 liters in 2017, up by 300% against the previous year's figure. The trend pattern remained constant, with an exception of the year 2013, when beer export decreased by 45%.
In value terms, beer exports totaled $3,898 in 2017. The export value increased by 133% over the period of 2014 to 2017. However, from 2014 to 2015, it stood at a somewhat lower level.
Import of beer from other countries has also observed a positive surge. In 2017, the amount of beer imported amounted to 11 301 liters, a 41% growth compared to 2016. In terms of value, beer import increased at a rate of 45% from 2016 to 2017, amounting to $10,176 in the latter period.
According to Commersant.ge, top exporting countries of Georgian beer include the UK, US and Germany.
