Patrol Police Call Center Service Expands to Regions

The call center service of the Patrol Police is to expand beyond Tbilisi and will soon be available throughout Georgia. The Ministry of Internal Affairs has finished training call center operators throughout the country meaning citizens in different regions will be able to contact the police service more effectively.

Georgia’s patrol police are responsible for preventing and responding to crimes. The purpose of the call center is to get information about administrative and technical issues such as how to pay a fine or registration of driver’s licenses.

"The MIA continues to reform the patrol police which involves the development of a society-oriented police service. In the latest stage of reform, the call center (2 41 42 42) was established on May 1 and already provides information and services to the public. To address challenges uncovered as a result of a two-month study, a special program has been launched to improve the professional skills of patrol police workers in terms of service, effective communication, working with databases and personal data specifics,” the MIA said today.

The heads of the Patrol Police and "112" service from the Ministry of Internal Affairs met with the trained staff of the Information Telephone Service Center. Teimuraz Kupatadze and Nika Gelashvili attended the presentation of the standard of training center of the Training Center.

Service standards and an operators' manual have been created in line with the trainings and the Patrol Police Information Center will work according to these new standards.
