Denmark: Face Veil in Public is Now Forbidden

On May, the Danish Parliament decided to ban niqab in public. Since August, 1, the law has been enforced and women who break the law would have to pay a fine from €134 (GEL 381) to €1340 (GEL 3816).

As a result, women wearing a face veil took to the street in Copenhagan on Tuesday protesting against the ban, arguing that wearing a niqab does not mean that you are submitted to men. For them, they were actually fighting for their right, the right to keep wearing the veil.
