Georgia Exports 45.4 mln Bottles of Wine in January-July

In January-July, 2018, 45.4 million bottles of wine were exported from Georgia, which brought the country $107,8 million.

The wine was exported to 50 countries worldwide, that is 19% higher than in the same period in 2017.

The top five importing countries are: Russia (28,564,609 bottles), Ukraine (5,040,319), China (3,514,066), Kazakhstan (1,996,860) and Poland (1,886,618).  

Georgia’s National Wine Agency (NWA) reports that wine import significantly increased to: Japan 124% (166, 032), Czech Republic-  68% (30,456), Kyrgyzstan -81% (140,370), South Korea  - 130% (40,980), Netherlands -  17% (38,799), UK -  67% (50,062),  Germany -32% (308,734), Latvia - 16% (966,726),  Estonia –7% (329304),  Lithuania - 21% (265062),USA - 4% (244374), Romania – 390% (84654) and others.

Georgia exported 9.9 million bottles of Georgian brandy (+20%) and 219,500 bottles of Chacha (114% increase) abroad in January-July 2018.

In total, wine, bandy, Chacha and wine income in seven months amounted to $173,3 which is a 21% growth compared to the same period of the previous year.
