Construction Site Accident

An elderly man has been killed at a construction site of the water distribution company Georgian Water and Power (GWP).

The tragedy occurred in Tbilisi near the fourth plateau of Nutsubidze. According to some reports, it was due to exposure to an electrical current. Construction workers also say that the man was an engineer who reported feeling unwell and asked for help. An ambulance arrived on the scene quickly, but the man could not be saved.

Nutsubidze's fourth plateau has been the site of a multi-story building construction project for several months. The local population protested the project unsuccessfully.
According to the United Trade Unions of Georgia, in the first quarter of 2018, 18 people died as a result of accidents at workplaces in Georgia.
