Georgia Expects over 8.5 mln Tourists This Year
The Head of the National Tourism Administration, Giorgi Chogovadze stated the development of international tourism will make the whole country stronger.
Chogovadze noted that by the end of 2018, Georgia expects to have hosted around 8.5 tourists.
"2018 year will be a year for a record number of tourists, including a huge increase in the direction of domestic tourism,” he noted.
He added that in 2018 Georgia should expect a $3 billion income from tourism.
“All this is very important for our country's economy. Approximately 200,000 people are employed in the tourism sector. The whole country is advancing with the development of international tourism. We see an increase from neighboring countries as well as from the EU and the Persian Gulf,” Chogovadze stated.
