Japan to Allocate $343 Million for Georgia’s Rikoti Highway

Japan has pledged to finance construction of 14 kilometer-long Shorapani-Argveta section of Georgia's Rikoti highway in the west of the country with $343 million.

The relevant agreement will be signed during the visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan Taro Kono to Tbilisi.

The Japanese Foreign Minister will hold meetings with the President of Georgia, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs.

Minister Cono is also expected to honor the memory of the heroes who died for the unity of Georgia.

“In accordance with this agreement, the Japanese government will allocate 38.735,000,000 Japanese Yen ($343 million) for Japan's International Cooperation Agency (JICA) to construct a 14.7 km long Shorapani-Argveta section of the highway,” Georgia’s Foreign Ministry reports.
