More than Half of Checked Georgians Failed Drug Test

In January-August 2018, 3,628 persons throughout Georgia and 1,707 persons in Tbilisi had positive results from drug testing, reports the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Georgia.

In January-August, 6,675 people underwent drug testing and more than half of them, 3,628 persons, had positive results.

The data reads that most cases of positive results were revealed in April-May.

The statistics by the month were as follows:

January – 383 positive results out of a checked 668

February – 430 positive out of 774 

March – 483 / 918

April – 499 / 1039

May – 499 / 1101

June – 480 / 851

July – 454 / 739

August – 400 out of 585 checked people.
