The Georgian Patriarchate has chosen to refrain from a preliminary assessment of the situation surrounding the church issue in Ukraine however, says it "is praying for" the Patriarchate of Constantinople and the Russian Orthodox Church to peacefully resolve the church issue in Ukraine.

“At this stage, it is necessary to refrain from preliminary assessments until each of the parties fix their official and final position based on the norms of canonical law,” stated the Patriarchate of Georgia.

It also noted that this is a very sensitive topic.

"Of course, each of them (the Patriarchate of Constantinople and the Russian Orthodox Church) feels responsible to millions of Orthodox believers and cares about the unity of the Orthodox churches.
