Number of Tourists up by 9% in September

The Georgian National Tourism Administration (GNTA) reports that the number of international travelers in September 2018 increased by 9.1%.

A total of 892,463 travelers visited Georgia last month. Of these, 536,302 were tourists.

According to the agency, the majority of foreign travelers were from Russia (+27.8%) Azerbaijan (+9.8%), Armenia (+0.1%) and Turkey (+17.2%) adding a positive trend was also maintained by visitors from the European Union: Estonia (+86%), Sweden (+82%), the Netherlands (+79%), Germany (+62%), Latvia (48%) and the Czech Republic (+44).

As for other countries, a significant increase of tourists was observed from Korea (+111%), China (+95%), Belarus (+47%), Japan (+38%) and Israel (+36%).

In January-September 2018, the number of tourist visits reached 3.772.102, which is 17.7% more compared to the same period of 2017.
