Passenger Traffic Surges to 23% in January-September 2018
The Union of Airports of Georgia published data on traveller inflow for January-September 2018. According to the information, airports of Georgia served a total of 9,915,352 passengers, a 23% increase as compared to the same period of the year 2017.
A growth in the number of passenger flow was observed in all three international airports of the country:
Tbilisi International Airport oversaw 385,914 passenger flow in September, an increase of 5% compared to the same period of last year. In terms of January-September period, passenger traffic raised by 21%.
Passenger traffic in Kutaisi International Airport surged to 63% in September 2018, reaching 68,061 passengers. Looking at the aggregate data of the last 9 months, Kutaisi International Airport served 450,386 passengers, while the number amounted to 325,087 in the same period of 2017, a growth of 39%.
The same positive trend is observed in Batumi International Airport, with 90,828 passenger flow, a 6% increase compared to September 2017. As for January-September 2018, passenger traffic increased by 20% compared to the same period in 2017, reaching a total of 513,716 passengers.
