Georgian Wine Exports Worldwide Up 13%
Georgian wine export has been booming over the last few years. The figures for the last 9 months even show an accelerated growth rate as export surged by 13% in the January-September period of 2018. The value, in turn, has reached a growth of 22% when compared to the same period in 2017.
In January-September 2018, a total of 60 million bottles of wine were exported to 53 countries. In terms of value, exported wine was worth a total of $142m.
A positive tendency has been observed in the following markets: Japan - 68% growth (172,673 bottles), Poland - 32% (2,465,541), Great Britain - 22% (67,310); Germany - 22% (349,216), Lyceva - 18% (331,620), Estonia - 390% (84,654), Czech Republic - 69% (31,050), Netherlands - 47% (60,309), Germany - 11% (107,126), Latvia - 9% (1,245,324), Turkmenistan - 80% (120,294), Kyrgyzstan - 54% (179,610), Kazakhstan - 30% (2,658,224), Mongolia - 44% (162,390), Ukraine - 27% (6,746,598), Belarus 13% (1,188,822), Russia - 11% (37,064,677) and others.
The top five exporting countries include: Russia (37,064,677), Ukraine (6,746,598), China (4,821,937), Kazakhstan (2,658,224) and Poland (2,465,541).
