Occupants Release Detained Georgian Citizens
The de facto regime of Georgia's Russian-occupied region of South Ossetia has released two Georgian citizens who were detained by so called border guards for “illegally crossing the border.”
Maia Otinashvili, 37, and Akaki Dotiashvili, 50, were released on Tuesday and they are now on the territory controlled by Georgia.
Both citizens were transferred to the Georgian government. Otinashvili was detained on September 29 and Akaki Dotiashvili on October 6.
Otinashvili was sentenced to a 1-year conditional sentence and 6-month probation sentence, while Dotiashvili was released after paying a fine.
