Berlin Expo Hosts Media Managers from EU East and South Neighborhoods
October 9-12, 2018 is the WAN IFRA World Publishing Expo & Digital Content Expo in Berlin. The European Union’s OPEN Media Hub hosted digital media managers from Algeria, Armenia, Egypt, Georgia, Libya, Moldova and Ukraine for a guided participation of the Expo. Thomson Media Director David Quin gave opening remarks to the media managers on Tuesday.
The guided participation supports senior managers of online and print media to share and learn about the latest trends in the publishing and content creating industry on a global level. The event includes a wide variety of talks, discussions and exhibitions that participants are led through by experienced OPEN Media Hub experts and insiders. OPEN Media Hub has also organized a follow-up discussion at Thomson Media to complement the experience.
OPEN Media Hub covered all participation expenses.
The OPEN Media Hub project, funded under the EU’s OPEN Neighborhood Program, aims to create a virtual media hub spanning the EU’s two neighborhood regions – south and east – in order to contribute to the development of independent media and to a more accurate presentation of EU policies, through the creation of a network of journalists. It helps journalists and media managers build their skills by fostering professional networks, providing hands-on workshops, facilitating journalist exchanges and supporting audio-visual and online production.
