Dog Joins In On Football Match
The football match of the National League of Georgia between the clubs FC Dila and Torpedo Kutaisi turned out to be unusual, as during the game a black dog jumped out onto the field looking to play. This is a stray dog who lives in the recreation park of the city of Gori and is only a year old, currently being taken care of by the players and the stadium security.
During the match, the dog first ran up to Torpedo defender Mamuka Kobakhidze, and then began running around the field trying to play with the players. The match had to be stopped for three minutes, which ended with a draw 0-0 later on.
Merab Merabashvili, manager of the material and technical service of the stadium, later said the dog is very fond of football.
"During training, he watches the process from the podium, and during the National League match, for some reason, he decided to join the players."
Video from the stadium scattered across the network in a matter of minutes, amusing everyone who saw it. It was no fun for the stadium administration however, as the Georgian Football Federation fined them 500 GEL (around $190) for the incident.
