Georgian Airways Celebrates its 25 Anniversary
In 2018, Georgian Airways celebrates its 25 years of presence in the aviation market. The airline will hold a jubilee event in the celebration hall of "Bioli" on October 16.
Givi Davitashvili, Director General of Georgian Airways, will sum up the 25-year-long service of the airline during the celebration day.
Members of the Government, Diplomatic Corps and International Partners will attend the anniversary evening. Moreover, representatives of the following companies will attend the celebratory event: Embraer, Lufthansa Technik, Boeing, Airbus, IATA Representatives of Air Lease Corporation, Nordic Aviation Capital, SMBC Aviation Capital will be present.
"Georgian Airways created the history of Georgian aviation. The first Georgian airline has been the an ambassador for years to support independent Georgia and has established the name of the independent country worldwide. Despite numerous difficulties, the airline celebrates the 25th year of working in a successful business environment and continues to move forward with a renewed aviation park, new directions, and improved service," said the Director General of Georgian Airways, Givi Davitashvili.
The airline was founded in 1993 as "Airzena," initially only with charter flights. Airzena became the national airline of Georgia in 1999. In 2004, Airzena continued operation under the name "Georgian Airways".
18 direct flights are carried out worldwide by Georgian Airways. At the same time, Georgian Airways is the leader in the region as a charter flight operator (performed more than 250 charter flights over the years). The airline owns 14% of Georgia's aviation market + 1/2% annual growth. At present, Georgian Airways airbase has three Boeing 737-700 / 800, three Embraer 190 and one Embraer 195, one CRJ.
