Mikheil Batiashvili Promotes ERASMUS Program to Students

Mikheil Batiashvili, Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia, delivered a speech at an event at the Erasmus+ National Office for Universities, Professors and Students today. He stressed that Erasmus+ is an exemplary program for Georgia, which shows the best example of integration into a common academic space with Europe.

The Erasmus+ program has involved 40 higher education institutions in Georgia and Georgia is of the leading partner countries in terms of implemented projects and scholarship programs.

In his speech, Batiashvili drew attention to the fact that in addition to the regional budget for Georgia, the Erasmus+ program was exclusively allocated an additional 6 million EUR, which means more projects and more than 800 scholarships for Georgian university students.

"The fact is that the numbers are growing not only of Georgian students in Europe, but also of European students and professors who come to Georgia. The state has created all possibilities for more Georgian students to get a European education and experience in order to share European values,” said Batiashvili.
