Nenskra HPP Project Works to Resume in November
JSC Nenskra Hydro, Nenskra Hydropower Plant (HPP) project company will resume the works suspended early 2018 in Chuberi village of Mestia Municipality. In particular, construction of two bridges with a load-capacity of 100 tons will be launched on the River Nenskra in November.
Overall preparatory works, that will include the rehabilitation and construction of the roads and bridges in both Nenskra and Nakra valleys, as well as power supply line installment, shall be concluded by December 2019.
With these preparatory works in progress, JSC Nenskra Hydro is also in the process of identifying a new Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) Contractor after the amicable resolution of the previous EPC contract.
JSC Nenskra Hydro is a project-based company established 2015 as a result of cooperation between Korea Water Resources Corporation K-water and JSC Partnership Fund. The company will construct the Nenskra Hydropower Plant in the Nenskra and Nakra river Valleys in Mestia Municipality of Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti region. The 280 MW Nenskra Hydropower Plant will generate approximately 1’200.00 GWh of electricity annually, which will be fully consumed by the Georgian market.
