JSC Nenskra Hydro to Resume Social Projects Along With Construction Works
JSC Nenskra Hydro, Nenskra Hydropower Plant (HPP) project company, and Agricultural Cooperatives Development Agency (ACDA) have jointly held a training workshop in Chuberi and Nakra, villages of Mestia Municipality.
The objective of the workshop that was held based on the request of the local community, was to provide the relevant stakeholders with practical information on creation and management of agricultural cooperatives. As it became clear at the workshop, the major areas of activities that the local community wants to develop are beekeeping and domestic livestock breeding.
The training workshop that had been arranged by the Company, was conducted by Giorgi Misheladze, the Chairman of Agricultural Cooperatives Development Agency.
Development of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) is one of the key components of so-called Community Investment Program within the framework of Nenskra HPP Project. The Community Investment Program, for its part, is an investment project with the purpose of contributing to small infrastructure project implementation, funding of vocational education, and promotion of SMEs in Chuberi and Nakra villages.
In the meantime, JSC Nenskra Hydro states that it will resume the work in Chuberi that was suspended early 2018. In particular, construction of two bridges with load-capacity of 100 tons will be launched on the river Nenskra in November.
About Nenskra HPP Project: JSC Nenskra Hydro is a project-based company established 2015 as a result of cooperation between Korea Water Resources Corporation K-water and JSC Partnership Fund. The company will construct the Nenskra Hydropower Plant in the Nenskra and Nakra river Valleys in Mestia Municipality of Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti region. The 280 MW Nenskra Hydropower Plant will generate approximately 1’200.00 GWh of electricity annually, which will be fully consumed by the Georgian market.
