Tbilisi to Have 90 New Buses
From February 2019, the yellow buses will be replaced by new, branded public transport in Georgia’s capital.
Tbilisi City Hall offers the citizens two colors of the buses: green and silver.
“Involvement of citizens in the selection process is important. So please, express your opinion. Which designs of the selected buses would you like to see in Tbilisi? Please express your position by voting,” Tbilisi City Hall wrote on its official Facebook page.
The City Hall has already purchased 90 buses, while the tender on purchasing 220 buses will be announced till the end of the month.
On October 17, Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze said that free wireless internet will be installed in the new buses.
According to Mamuka Mumladze, Head of Municipal Transport Department,up to 200 yellow minibuses and over 100 buses in Tbilisi stopped operating because none of them could pass through technical check.
