Popularizing Adjara Region at WTM London 2018
The Tourism Department of Adjara is promoting the mountainous region at the world’s largest tourist exhibition “WTM London 2018”.
The Department was represented at the exhibition together with the National Tourism Administration, Adjara Finance and Economy Ministry and representatives of tourism agencies. More than 5,000 tourism companies and organizations from around the world took part in the London Tourism Exhibition, contributing to establishing business contacts and finding potential partners.
Within the framework of the exhibition, representatives of Adjara Tourism Department met with representatives of BBC, Euronews, ITV representatives, bloggers and online editions of leading media outlets, leading British and international tourism, advertising companies and airlines.
"Presenting our country and region on such extremes and importance of tourism exhibitions is of utmost importance, because here it is the world's largest tailor made from tourism business. We had business meetings with other important organizations and companies such as Thomas Cook, British Airways, Wizzair, BBC, Euronews, ITV, Tripadvisor and Expedia. Britain is an interesting tourist destination for us, and we have started the promotion of the Adjara region this year, so it is crucial to have direct communication with our potential visitors. For the last two years, we have been actively using BBC to broadcast the Adjara-based video footage to advertise the region. Next year we are planning to use other media platforms to help increase the recognition of our country on the British market," said Sulkhan Ghlonti, Chairman of Tourism Department of Adjara.
In 2018, Adjara Tourism Department has advertised the region at 22 International Tourism Exhibitions.
