Bera Bidzinashvili Marries

On Sunday, November 11, Bera Ivanishvili married girlfriend Nanuka Gudavadze in a private ceremony at Svetiskhoveli Cathedral in Mtskheta. Bera is a French-Georgian singer and rapper whose major notoriety comes from the fact that he is the son of billionaire oligarch and head of the ruling Georgian Dream political party Bidzina Ivanishvili. Nanuka is a Georgian professional model and fashion blogger.

The pair has been dating for only a few months, and announced their engagement in late September when Bera posted a photo of the two together on Instagram with the caption “And what before had been mine and yours, has now become ours.”

The couple’s parents are close friends and they have known each other since childhood.

The ceremony caused a degree of controversy, as the wedding shut down Svetiskhovel to the public – Georgian Orthodox churches generally remain open 24/7, and wedding ceremonies are often accompanied by strangers worshipping or tourists snapping pictures.

During the ceremony, Bera and Nanuka both wore traditional Georgian costumes, but for the reception at Bioli Medical Wellness Resort in Kojori, on the outskirts of Tbilisi, the bride switched to a sky blue crepe ballgown.
