Eastern Georgia to Get Wintry Weather this Week

Eastern Georgia, the region of Kakheti in particular, is currently seeing rain with the occasional slushy mix. The head of Georgia's Hydrometeorological Center, Svetlana Nioradze, says the wintry weather will last through the week. Today, the region is expected to get heavy icy rain.

Overnight, the eastern mountains saw up to 18 centimeters of snow - notably on the Jvari mountain pass and in Gudauri. The snowfall is expected to continue in the mountains over the next several days.
