Destination Management Organization to be Established in Samtskhe-Javakheti
The Samtskhe-Javakheti Destination Management Organization (DMO) is a joint initiative by the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia and the USAID.
Giorgi Chogovadze, Head of the National Tourism Administration, Elizabeth Rudd, Ambassador of the United States of America and Besik Amiranashvili, Samtskhe-Javakheti Regional Governor, officially announced the establishment of Samtskhe-Javakheti Tourism Management Organization (DMO) in Akhaltsikhe, Rabat Castle.
The goal of the DMO is to raise awareness and promote further advancements of the tourism development model in Samtskhe-Javakheti region. With the establishment of the DMO, the Georgian National Tourism Administration and USAID jointly define the challenges related to tourism development in the region and will set the priorities to popularize the region in terms of tourism, as well as boost economic growth and employment in Samtskhe-Javakheti.
