Minister of Economy Meets Local Entrepreneurs in Rustavi
Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Giorgi Kobulia met with entrepreneurs in the city of Rustavi over the weekend. "Kvemo Kartli is traditionally one of Georgia's industrial regions and, therefore, as minister, I am interested in the opinion of the people on what economic problems you face today and how can we help this region," Kobulia told assembled representatives from small and medium-sized businesses. Kobulia, explained the importance of maintaining an open dialogue with the local population, because face-to-face communication promotes a quick solution of the issues before them.
"This is one of the regular meetings in the framework of the format I started in the regions several months ago, and I will continue this in the future," Kobulia affirmed.
During the meeting, Kobulia emphasized the special interest of the Georgian government in promoting small and medium-sized businesses and industrial development. The resources of the Kvemo Kartli region should be utilized by the joint efforts of the government and the private sector to achieve the goals that the Georgian government has for the economic development of the country.
The minister explained, "We have quite interesting plans, but I do not really want to talk about it in monologue mode. The aim of my visit is to have a dialogue with you and discuss the economic challenges you are facing today. I would like to talk about the problems nd potential solutions." Kobulia also thanked the attendees for their work and noted that he was quite impressed that so many people gathered on the day of a holiday - Giorgoba.
"This means that you care about this region, that you want to do even more. We hope that [together] we will create a better economic future in our country," he said.
Minister of Foreign Affairs David Zalkaliani, First Deputy Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure Irakli Karseladze, State Representative-Governor in Kvemo Kartli region Shota Rekhviashvili, and other officials also attended the meeting.
