Libraries Opened in Villages near Occupation Line

On 8 December, Giorgi Kekelidze, General Director of the National Parliamentary Library of Georgia, visited the village of Tkibuli, to open a library as part of a project to open new libraries in Georgia.

Situated in west-central Georgia in the Imereti region, the library will serve as a useful source of books for children and adults in the area. The opening event was attended by many local children.

The library was organized by the Center for Education Development and Employment under the “Volunteers of Georgia” and EU-led Civil Society Development Initiative.

Libraries were also opened in the villages of Perevi  and Persev, near the occupation line of South Ossetia.
