GDP Grows by 4.8% in Q1-Q3 2018
According to Geostat, the nominal Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in the first three quarters of 2018 amounted to GEL 10,586.
In Q3 2018, real GDP increased by 3.7%, while the deflator grew by 3.4%. As for Q1-Q3 2018, real GDP surged to 4.8% YoY.
Real growth was registered in the following activities: Community, Social and Personal Service activities (19.9%), Transport (16.2%), Financial Intermediation (15%), Real Estate, Renting and Business Activities (13.4%), Communication (8.9%), Health and Social Work (8.6%), Hotels and Restaurants (7.4%), Mining and Quarrying (6.2%), Processing of Products by Households (5.9%), Agriculture, Hunting and Forestry; Fishing (3.8%).
A decrease in the real value-added occurred in Construction (-9.2%), Public administration (-2.9%), Manufacturing (-2.3%).
The largest shares of GDP by activity are held by Trade (18.1%) and Industry (17%), followed by Transport and Communication (11.5%), Construction (9.4%), Agriculture, Hunting and Forestry; Fishing (8.4%), Real Estate, Renting and Business Activities (7.9%), Public Administration (6.3%), Health and Social work (5.7%).
