11 New Kindergartens to Be Built in Tbilisi in 2019
In 2018, 11 new kindergartens were built in Tbilisi and for the next year, new locations have been selected for the construction of 11 more.
The information was released by the Head of the Kindergarten Management Agency, Kakhaber Gvantseladze, while presenting the 2018 report.
Gvantseladze said that there are currently 180 state kindergartens in Georgia, which are free of charge for children to attend.
“The construction of the kindergartens is the main task in order to increase access to preschool education. We have already selected 11 locations where construction of new kindergartens will start in a few weeks,” he added.
He also spoke about the existing challenges in the system, saying a lot of work needs to be done to advance preschool education in Georgia.
“2018 was a very effective year, but our plans will be unprecedented in 2019,” Gvantseladze said.
The presentation was attended by the directors of the kindergartens.
