1 Killed, 12 Injured in Ambulance Crash in Tbilisi

An ambulance crashed in Tbilisi on the morning of 9 January, killing 1 person and injuring 12, including two doctors. The vehicle hit workers at a construction site on Chavchavadze Avenue.

It is unclear what caused the ambulance to crash. However, the ambulance driver was arrested under suspicion of driving under the influence and violating safety rules that caused human loss of life. He has not yet been charged.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs has stated that an investigation regarding the incident is underway.

Tbilisi Emergency Medical Center released a statement expressing sorrow over the “tragic accident” and offering condolences to the family of the victims. They ensured that all victims received appropriate medical treatment.

Tbilisi Emergency Medical Center assured that the patient in the ambulance was not harmed and was taken to their destination.
