Foreign Ministry: No Georgians Reported among Injured in Paris Explosion
Georgia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs says no Georgians have been reported among the injured people in the explosion of a bakery in Paris, which left 4 people dead and dozens injured.
“No information about injuries of Georgian citizens has been received as yet by the Georgian Consulate in France as a result of a powerful explosion which took place this morning in Paris,” the Ministry said.
The blast occurred at the bakery at 9 a.m. local time on Saturday, killing two firefighters who were responding reports of a gas leak. One woman and one man were also killed.
Dozens more people were injured in the blast, which also caused damage to nearby streets.
The cause was thought to be accidental, though other explanations have not been excluded, the Paris prosecutor said.
